| Is it nice to foatercare? Do your research, and be honest with yourself. Often times foster kids come with their own set of problems. You being a good person doesn't mean you (or your husband) are cut out to handle the kind of issues that may arise. Realize the point of foster care is reunification - it is not adoption. You will have to hand the kids back over to their parents when the state feels the parents are ready to parent (and the state probably has a lower standard than you do). As yourself, honestly, can you accept that? You don't do anybody any favors by signing up for foster parenting and then backing out later, after the kids have bonded to you, because you can't hack it. |
