I am a legally divorced person aged 41 years. Recently I married a...

...divorcee. She has a son aged 7 years..... I am a legally divorced person aged 41 years. Recently I married a divorcee. She has a son aged 7 years from her previous marriage. Can I change his father's name with mine. Shall I have to adopt him legally or he gets the status of son automatically? Or is there any legal procedure to be followed? Will anyone help me in this matter?
