How much would my friend have to pay in total support if he gets divorced (in...

...CALIFORNIA)? My friend is about to go through a divorce. We have similar situations in that our marriages were short and there is a child involved. The major difference is that his wife doesn't work.

They have been married for 2 years. They have a 1 year old son. He makes $63k a year. Child care is $1000/mo and they are renters. His wife worked prior to the marriage, but not professionally. Now she is a full-time student.

I am aware that he would only be required to pay spousal support for half the term of the marriage (1 yr) and most likely he'll have to pay 50% of child care.

How is his child support (assuming 20% visitation) and spousal support determined? What is he liable for?

He's trying to figure out how much he can afford in rent when he moves.

Depends on how much he makes a month.
Back in the day my dad payed 525.00 US/ mth for me. I don't know how much he made though. My mom had full custody and my dad had like 1/4. I saw him on a regular basis.

the longer they stayed married the more money he has to shell out now if she wants to be mean he will have to pay for his lawer her lawer if he was the sole worker in the family while they were married he will have to pay spousal as long as the judge says now as for child support it really doesnt depend on how much he makes its more of how he has been caring for his child and what he needs to keep caring for his child child support it made up of different things to rent for a child to live to food to clothes to medical to child care if she hasnt worked the judge may make him still pay the full child care only because he has been doing it
