Moving On...During and After Divorce?

I found out my husband was cheating a few months ago and since have kicked him out and served him with divorce papers. I thought I would feel totally devastated and depressed, but I actually feel totally relieved. I think this is because during our marriage, I always had it in the back of my mind that he was cheating on me, but never did anything about it hoping our relationship would work and our kids would have stability. Now that I've pulled my head out of the sand and am doing something about it (divorcing him), I feel totally happy & relieved that I don't have that dynamic in my life anymore. Since we have kids, I'll still have to see him all the time, but at least I won't have to deal with the cheating issue anymore and I'm so happy about that and am looking forward to my future.

My question is, what did those of you going through a divorce do to get through and stay positive?? How long after you seperated or divorced did you start dating again?

I didn't cry once. I was so glad to get away from his sorry @ss.

You do what makes you feel good. Until the divorce is final, I would watch my p's and q's. No overnights with anyone, no partying. Be a mom. They need you now more than ever. Spend your free time with them. Gee, after my divorce, I didn't think about dating for 6 years.

Under the same circumstances.....Dating was not a concern for me. I had 4 children. I had no time or interest in such.
Nor did I wish to bring men into their lives. It will all come about in due time. Take it one day at a time. Do NOT rush into your new independence. Savor every joyful moment to the fullest!
