Do I need a DD Form 214 to get my ID card after the divorce?

My husband is in the Army and we're getting divorced in July, after the 20 year mark. I was told by a couple of people that I will need to get this DDForm 214 from my husband to obtain my new ID card. Others said I don't need it. Does anyone know for sure? The people I've talked with work in the ID section at 2 different Army bases. The form is to show when he came into the military, can't they look that up some other way? Reason being, my husband is being an A**hole and keeps making excuses for why he is'nt getting it for me. Thanks for any help.

Why would you need an ID card?
Your military benefits would be null and void unless stipulated in the divorce.

I would suggest either contacting your ombudsman or base legal.

To my knowledge, after a divorce, you won't get an ID card. There is no need unless you have minor children, and they should have there own cards...........
