Should I divorce my high school sweetheart and mother of my children?

I am 30 and have been with my wife for 11 years married for the last 5. We have 3 children and a fouth on the way. We were eachothers first everything and neither of us have had any other relationships. Our marrieage has been plaged by abuse both verbal and physical. We both love our kids more than life, but cannot stand each other sometimes. We have told each other I HATE YOU and have used every expletive in the book when we fight. I know I love her and that she loves me, but we seem to be so miserable together. My parents divorced when I was three and she wished her parents would have divorced since both of our families were so screwed up. I know that it is selfish of me to ask this question concidering the fact that we have a fourth child on the way, but are we doing the right thing by staying together for the kids, or do we really love each other but were so screwed up by our parents that we don't know how to treat each other?
