Does age have any bearing in a marriage? Is it ok to marry a lady older than you?

I know a girl since 6 years now. I had thought of marrying her 5 years ago, and still thinking about it. She has become fatter and less attractive now. And she is a year older than me. Now I find myself in a situation wherein I can neither go for it or leave her..... Plz advise.
