It might depend on the state, but yes, it is most likely so.

Alot of kids in California in the entertainment industry do in I think it's called and emancipated juveniles. I would also think that any judge in a divorce would listen to what you have to say.At 14 your not an adult, but what you have to say should matter to not only a judge but to your parents also....I am currently seperated although we are going through counsiling and are definately going to reconcile,I allowed my daughter who is 15 decide, knowing she would stay with her dad. At the time it broke my heart but I knew it was for the best. They are both farm people and she has horses and cows and to be in town would have made her bored and possibly get into trouble. She would stay with her dad Mon-Thurs and then come to me on the week-ends.

It's really up to the judge and the laws in your state. Try going to the cities website and searching for any info on it. I am sure it's there, but it might take some time to find. It's all on maturity levels too, the judge can say whether or not you are making the right choice based on your maturity level. Good luck.

It depends on your state laws. Generally, the divorce court takes into account several factors, including the stability and desire of each parent, the wellbeing of the child, and the preference of the child.

It is 12 in some states.. But I know this for sure. I am a Senior and I have been in this boat...I am 100% sure I learned it in Street Law class last year!

There is not actually a legal age when a minor can decide where they live. The court will listen to a minor at any age to what their preferrence is, but they still have the legal decision. They want the child to be in a home with structure, rules, supervision, etc.. and some children would choose to live a parent's house who is less strict with no rules, where they are allowed to run wild. The court looks at the child's best interest.

` Good luck

Every state has different laws regarding divorce and child custody. A judge will always "consider" the childs wishes if they are OF AGE.

No matter what you say the judge will STILL RULE on what is in the BEST INTEREST of the child, not the parents.

Google it for your state.

Well not always, you can tell the judge which parent you would rather prefer but its still their decision in the end. They usually go with the childs choice as long as the parent is fit.

YES
it is true there is arule that governs that
i am sure it differs a little by state, but essentially at the age of 12-16 if the child no longer wishes o remain with the parent they are with, they may choose to live with the other and this is there right
