| If the marriage is never legally recognized, (like you have the ceremony but never sign the certificate) then no. However, a civil union is basically a JP marriage (Justice of the Peace). If you are talking about same-sex... then those unions are only recognized in certain states. So if you went to state that did NOT recognize it and got legally married, you wouldn't be breaking the law (technically). |
