I know a few people who have had them, and no, their lives weren't completely ruined, but they couldn't drive for a time.

alot of money goes out of your pocket for making this mistake. don't think the law needs to change. the behavior of the people needs to change. it's really a mistake not worth making.

I've known a few people that have gotten a D.U.I., and no, it didn't ruin any of their lives. It stopped one of them from getting a job they wanted that had driving in the job description, but he got a different job and that was that...I don't think they need to change the laws, I think more people need to observe the law. Then they wouldn't have to worry about it.

Dont drink and drive and you wont have to worry about it. Pluss if you are on food stamps you should be focusing on how to get your life in order not being a drunkard!!

I don't think any of those reasons are an excuse to drive drunk. There is no excuse to drive drunk.

There is no excuse for drink driving. You may choose to be an idiot and get behind the wheel after having a drink (or taking drugs), but where is the choice for the people you hit with your car, the lives you destroy as a result of your actions? Book a cab, walk home, drink in the house, have a designated driver - these are options. There is no excuse.
