She moves to some scandanavian country, were her mom's new husband's family has a cottage. The new step-dad's family just happens to be related to the german that helped the guys grandfather. He tries to find her at the end when they realize they are still in love but right when he get there she is run over by a car and has this dream of their reunion but then u realize it's a dream and she's dead.
