Professional opinions can be obtained from divorce and immigration attorneys. I'd suggest you procure one or both.

Conditional resident card and want to divorce?

I married a US citizen and received my conditional resident card. Things changed as soon as I came to the states because he knew I couldn't go anywhere and started to believe he owned me because of the fact that my residency is not permanent. There has been domestic violence and emotional abuse but none of this has been reported to the authorities. I have since met someone else and in a short period of time we hit it off and now we want to spend the rest of our lives together. I want to divorce my husband and marry this man, however I don't want to risk the INS believing I remarried because I want to remain in the states. I know I can file for a waiver of the condition myself but I dont know if i can do that if I remarry as soon as my divorce falls through. I don't care if I have to wait longer for my green card, I just want to make sure my new husband and I can be together. I need professional opinions on how this can be accomplished with minimal complications.
