...blessed by God? How often is this put in practice in a Muslim country? I've been told Islamic marriage is an agreement between the participants said before God but God is not included in said agreement. Is this correct? Why then is Ayisha marriage to Mohammad seen as ordained by God and other marriages not?

Using common sense alone is marriage between two children morally okay with YOU?
I read an article in the paper a coupla days ago re Saudi Arabia. The 11yr old is quoted as saying "I am so ready for this marriage, it will help me with my schoolwork!" and his teacher the marriage "is so inappropriate" but allowed under Islamic law.

what do you mean by common sense? I think you mean to say "what do you think since we're all judgemental"
if you go back in time, once puberty hits people became parents, it wasn't too uncommon considering 35 was about the average lifespan.
People do everything that they do because of what they believe god or whomever they believe in will approve of. If they are in America it'd be illegal, but if it's legal in that society than it's not our place to judge.

I suspect that particular wedding is cultural not Islamic!
If you can show me a sharia law that says non-adults can get married then I'd say something...

this rarely happens in muslim countries it is somewhat a myth. especially in khaleeji countries people are becoming more open minded and are letting their children have a much bigger say in marriage and even go as far as letting them choose. there are still cases where the father will choose a suitor but this isnt done until his daughter is reaching twenty.
