How come women always harp on how marriage is the absolute permanent thing?

It is what they want to believe, I always hear from people to fight for your marriage and they are usually divorced. My own MIL begs me to to stay with her son forever but she didn't like her first husband, why should I?

because sometimes their partner doesn't belive that so the relationship doesn't last. but i personally believe that once i get married that i'll never get divorced or remarry.

Because they CAN truly believe in it even if they are on their 2nd or 3rd , just because they have been married before doesnt mean it was them that ended the previous one. Did you even consider the man ending it even though she thought it WAS going to last forever?

Because women pay more attention to the words in the vows. Remember your vows. I think they should have to be memorized, because most men spend their time just trying to stand up front and answer at the right pause. This coming from some one married 26 yrs. 1st marriage. If you understand the vows, then, you wouldn't have this question. Also, nothing is an absolute permanent thing. Endurance is long lasting. That's a better word.

marriage is suppose to be permanent, one doesn't go into the marriage with thoughts it will fail, its usually that something breaks down the marriage. there are no guarantees in life or relationships, but why should someone just give up on marriage when theres a divorce, they should keep trying. why should they allow that divorce to define the rest of their life, or keep the from trying again.
