Is a marriage doomed if one partner doesn't regard the other as a friend?

My husband revealed to me last night that he doesn't think I am his friend because he believes I don't listen to him or try to understand how he is feeling. I think I do listen and try to understand. We have two small children. This has devastated me as I can't see us moving forward if he doesn't think of me as a friend. He is xtremely busy and can never find time to spend with just me. He plays with our boys as often as he can. He says he can't even find time for himself but the other night he spent 1hour on youtube. I feel very trapped as we don't live in town and we have just committed to a very big financial decision and I don't really have anyone else to discuss this issue with. Please help me work this out.
