info about getting a divorce in Michigan..?

my mother wants & needs to get a divorce...she lives in michigan, only kid is 23, and do not want the house or money. moved out about 4 yrs ago, and was wondering how much it would cost estimate, and if there is any way to do it without a lawyer, and if i should do it with a lawyer how much that would be, she doesnt have alot of money to do this, she was told it costs to speak with a lawyer, is that true? if anyone knows of anyone i could speak to for free or anything that could help her, thanks
