Hello From Cleveland..Need Your Help

Hello Everyone,
I am a senior pre-law student at Cleveland State University. After some nominal research on Masonry and 3 years of debating; I finally have decided that I am now ready to offer a committed Masonic membership to either #498 or #599 in Cleveland, Ohio. This will be my very first experience with Freemasonry. This afternoon I went to visit the grand lodge on Euclid Avenue in hopes of getting a petition application for first time membership. I was instructed that I needed to have 2 masonic individuales who knew me for at least a year, represent me and vouch for me in order to go further with the membership process. At this point, I do not know any Masonic members. I basically am seeking membership on my own free will and I am not under the influence of any present members at any of the local lodges. I was wondering if there are any Masonic members out there who would care to meet me and more or less take me under their wing as a prospect? Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Joining the Freemason's is one of the best choices you will ever make in your entire life. It will undoubtably change your perception of yourself and the world around you enough to contribute and meet other(s) of like minded facets. One person can make a small dent to the problems of the world, but when you have brothers from the worlds oldest fraternity behind you and with you; imagine what can and is being done to help mankind. While doing so, imagine the differences that you can implement into your own life and those around you.........We make Already "Good" Men and make them Better. Even a Mentor Needs a Mentor.

Thank You very much for those words of encouragement! I have petitioned, was interviewed and have been accepted through the voting process into a local lodge in the Cleveland area. My next step is to be initiated by ceremony and at that time I believe I may receive my first degree; the current scheduled date for this event is May 19th. I'm not going to elaborate in detail on what transpires because I don't want to risk divulging anything that traditionally should be kept within the confines of the institutuon of Freemasonry. I will say that I truly feel that this decision is perfect for me. I think there comes a time in a persons life when realization leads to a sort of epiphany. One must act on that epiphany and go in the direction that your convictions fit into and lead you. After 3 years of what I'm going to say was nominal research, I say nominal because it would be virtually impossible to study from the outside an institution as complicated as Freemasonry. What truly impressed me was the nobility of Freemasonry and I also believe that has a righteous brick in the foundation of the United States.
