I was asked to try to find the 6th District Traveling Gavel. I know that Hampton Lodge #70 has the Cascade Lodge Traveling Gavel. Meridian Sun Lodge #26 has the Traveling Hat. Montgomery Lodge#31 has the Rex Lodge Traveling Gavel. Now where is the other one at??? Now that was said, if there is any Traveling Gavel in your District. Please let me know and I will try to keep you up to date where it is at. Maybe this will help to promote more traveling in your Disrict. Darrell Flanigan
5th District= Clarkston took their Traveling Gavel back last week. They have a page about it at listing present location and where it's been.
9th District = Mt. Zion Lodge #316 has a Traveling Gavel in their possession from the 7th Masonic District. It is a rather large gavel and we have had it for at least 3 or 4 years. Will have more infor. later. Donald P. Gresh

August 19, 2006= Floyd Springs Lodge #167= "Masons Night with the Rome Braves" hosted by Floyd Springs No. 167. The Game starts at 7:00pm. All Masons need to wear Masonic attire and the seats are located near the 3rd Base level end of the field. August 24, 2006= Mount Vernon Lodge #22= Will host a Picnic at the Lodge at 6 pm. All invited including friends, children and wives; Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and amusements.

August 26, 2006= Rock Quarry= 53rd Annual Communication of the Rock Quarry Meeting on Wilscot Mountain, eight miles south of Morganton, Georgia. Our Grand lodge will do the Master Degree. But only the first part. Riverdale #709 will do the Dramatize. Meal will start at 12pm. Eight miles south of Morganton, Georgia. Chicken, BBQ, and Brunswick Stew with all the trimmings will be served at Wilscot Spring from about 12 noon until 3 pm. A donation will be expected to cover the cost of the meal. Ceremonies at the Quarry will begin at 6 pm. We recommend you bring a light jacket or sweater and a seat cushion. From Hwy 515, take GA Hwy 60 South toward Dahlonega and the Quarry.

August 26, 2006=Cochran Lodge #217= The Annual Fifth Masonic District Family Day Picnic will be at Wills Park in Alpharetta from 11:00am to 5:00pm. All families, friends and neighbors are welcome to share fun, food, live entertainment and meet new friends and Masons. Directions to the park are quite simple: Take 400 north to exit ten (10) which is the Old Milton Highway exit in Alpharetta. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left (turn right if you are coming south on 400) and go just 2.2 miles and make a left into the parking lot (just past the pool also on your left). Our covered pavilion is just to the right of the parking lot. Don't forget that if you have a favorite cole slaw recipe, we have a taste contest judged by Brother F. Ray Jackson, Most Worshipful Grand Master of Georgia and his First Lady, Barbara. We hope to see you all that day. Tickets are only $7.50 per person, children under twelve are free. Tickets are available at the park if you do not purchase them in advance.

September 12, 2006= Fort Valley Lodge #110= Will be honoring all Past Masters at the Masonic Temple in Fort Valley GA. I would like to make this special request for you to add this event to your plans. Our goal for the evening is to honor all Past Masters of this or any other Lodge. If you picture is not on our wall of Fort valley lodge Past Masters, we would like to take your picture this evening also. During this evening we plan to have a re-obligation ceremony wherein we all will all retake the Master Mason obligation, much as one performs a renewal of our marriage vows. This ceremony has proven to be a moving event and very popular in other Lodges.I hope you will deem this evening special enough to plan your attendance.
