Georgia State Masonic Information-May 17th GACHIP Event #2 Brethren, The email below is being sent to as many Masons as possible. It does not pertain to Sandy Springs Lodge alone, but to all Lodges in Georgia . We need your help. Lets show the Communities how great we Masons are. How about getting in touch with WB Bill Kayma (bkayma@bellsouth.net) and let him know that you are going to help and the hours you can work. When we Masons support a program, we do it right! Now lets show Georgia who we really are! Fraternally, Frank Vexler, PM Associate State Director, Equipment and Logistics GACHIP fjv6@comcast.net 404-245-8903 (cell) 404-315-6839 (home) Subject: May 17th GAChip Event Brethren, I am pleading for more Sandy Springs Masons to volunteer with Ken Howard and me to staff the GBI-Masonic Sponsored Georgia Child Identification Program (GAChip) in Decatur on Saturday May 17. Please let me know if you can be there any time between 8:30 AM and 5:30 PM and how many hours you plan to work. This is a wonderful community program and will help us promote Masonry to our communities. Please let me know if you can help out. Invite your friends, family and neighbors. They would enjoy this event and they would benefit from volunteering. Saturday May 17th Time 10 am 4 pm located at GBI Headquarters; 3121 Panthersville Road Decatur, GA 30034. Located at the intersection of Clifton Springs Road . Less than 1 mile from the 285-Flat Sholes Road exit. The list of organizations that will attend this year and draw in children is much longer than the flyer allows us to advertize. As you can see there are many large organizations participating that are listed. We need and must have a strong showing if we wish to be invited back year to year. Almost 800 children were in attendance and registered last year at the first event. It did not have the list of groups that are drawing kids as this year, which is why 1500 children are expected for this event. This is not a stand alone Masonic event, however it will place the spot light directly on Georgia Masons. We should be the only group that interacts with every child that attends. We will have 20 computer stations for this event. If 1500 attend within the 6 hours, each of the stations must process 12.5 children per hour. This pace will be hard on volunteers so a rotation will be required to keep the pace. I estimate a need for 60 volunteers to properly staff this event, 4-5 of those being medical staff. Setup and tear down is needed, the hours for the volunteers will be closer to 8:30 am 5:30 pm. All volunteers are welcome and needed. I am in need of some form of a head count; please contact me if you or your Lodge will participate. | Article Tools | | |
