August 28, 2007= Oostanaula Lodge #113= Will be honored to host Sheriff Tim Burkhalter and (2) Gang task force officers for an open meeting. Sheriff Burkhalter and his men will discuss gang signs, manner of dress, current status of gangs in this area, and will be available for all questions. An informed public makes it hard for gangs to operate with anonymity. As most of our members know, our Lodge building was a target of gang graffiti or tagging. It is important for us to be able to decipher plain graffiti from gang "tagging" and through numerous photos and slides, from right here in Rome, Sheriff Burkhalter will help us make that distinction. With this information, we can keep our communities and neighborhoods safer by recognizing and reporting gang activity. Come join us on help keep Rome and Floyd County safe. September 1, 2007= Hampton Lodge #70= A class on Masonic Etiquette 70. The class, co-sponsored by Hampton Lodge #70 and Meridian Sun Lodge #26, will start at 10am with lunch to follow. The class will be interactive, so that all of us can take part. Hopefully this class will help us all to become better Mason’s. All Georgia Mason’s are welcome to attend. The cost will be $6.00 if you do NOT have a Grand Lodge of Georgia Etiquette book and $4.00 if you DO have a Grand Lodge of Georgia Etiquette book. If you have this book make sure you bring it with you.All Georgia Masons in attendance will received a "Masonic Etiquette" Certificate from the Grand Master and the State MELD director. Worshipful Brother Ruben Martinez, State Director of Masonic Education and leadership Development and Worshipful Brother Hendry Betts, Assistant State Director of Masonic Education and Leadership Development will be in attendance to assist and answer any questions you may have. This class should lead t o some good healthy discussion on the subject of Masonic Etiquette, and also this will be a good reason for us to get together and enjoy some good Fellowship. Please read this in open Lodge, and tell all your Masonic Brothers about this class. PLEASE, email me if you plan to attend, or have your Lodge email me with the number from your Lodge that plan on attending. This way I can have a good idea on how much food to prepare.

September 3, 2007= Douglasville Lodge #289= Will hold their 44th Annual Rudolph Harper Labor Day Bar-B-Que. At Hunter Park in Douglasville, GA. The Bar-B-Que will be from 11am to 6pm. The Bar B Q follows the Sweetwater Shrine Labor Day Parade. Come watch the parade, eat Bar-B-Que and enjoy all the events of the day. We will have Craft Booths, Kids Rides, Pony Rides, the best Funnell Cakes ever made, the Sons of Confederate Veterans will perform, the Shrine Entertainers Band will provide good Country Music all evening. September 14, 2007= Lawrenceville Lodge #131= Fall BBQ Pork Fund Raiser. We will begin on Friday, September 14th, from 4pm to 8pm serving Bagged Meals consisting of BBQ sliced pork sandwich, chips, brownie and coke via the Drive Thru in Lodge parking lot. The donation for the Drive Thru Bagged Meal is $5.00 each. On Saturday, September 15th, we will continue the Bagged Meals via the Drive Thru starting at 9:30am thru the duration of the Lawrenceville Parade. The Full Meal Dinner service (eat-in or carry out) will begin on Saturday, September 15th, at 11am and will conclude at 7pm. The Full Meal will consist of chopped BBQ pork, hamburger roll, cole slaw, corn on the cob and Brunswick stew. The donation for the Full Meal Dinner is $6.00 per plate or carry out. We will also have Brunswick stew in carry out quart containers for a donation of $7.50 while they last.

November 13, 2007= EA Minor Lodge #603= The DCMA was formed to promote brotherly love and fellowship among the members of lodges in and near DeKalb county, and all meetings are open, non-tyled events to which family and friends are most welcome. These meetings are a great way to introduce the craft to friends who would like to know more. Each meeting has a short educational or entertainment program, and we normally wrap up by 8:30pm., after which qualified visitors are welcome to stay for the hosting lodge's regular meeting.
