I was asked to try to find the 6th District Traveling Gavel. I know that Hampton Lodge #70 has the Cascade Lodge Traveling Gavel. Meridian Sun Lodge #26 has the Traveling Hat. Montgomery Lodge#31 has the Rex Lodge Traveling Gavel. Now where is the other one at??? Now that was said, if there is any Traveling Gavel in your District. Please let me know and I will try to keep you up to date where it is at. Maybe this will help to promote more traveling in your Disrict. Darrell Flanigan

5th District= Clarkston took their Traveling Gavel back last week. They have a page about it at listing present location and where it's been.

9th. District= Mt.Zion Lodge #316 Has a Traveling Gavel in their possession. It is a rather large gavel and we have had it for at least a couple of years.Will have more infor. later. Donald P. Gresh

July 29, 2006 = Turin Lodge #337= A Big Day for Freemasonry in Coweta County and for West Georgia. The famous Wool Hat Boys Masonic Degree Team will Confer the Masters Degree on 4 Fellowcraft Mason. This is a Called Communication - breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. and the Degree will be Conferred at 9:00 a.m. For more information contact W. Bro. Earl Byrom at ebyrom@charter.net

July 31, 2006 = Past Masters' Club of Chamblee = Will meet. All Past Masters are welcome. Dinner at 6:00, meeting at 7:00, at Chamblee-Sardis Masonic Center, Chamblee.

August 11, 2006= Blue Ridge #67= Will be having a Called Communication to host a Degree Team from North Carolina to Confer the Masters Degree - North Carolina style. The Lodge will eat at 6:00 p.m. and the Degree will begin after dinner. This may be the only chance that some of us have to see a North Carolina Masters Degree...More information is on the way and we are in the process of organizing a carpool from the South Metro area.

August 12, 2006= Masonic Home Workday= For the Districts of 2,3,6 and 7 Starts at 8am. Afterward The Grand Master will pay all Brothers Master wages and then feed everyone. =Actually, the day for districts 5, 8, 10, and 11 was May 27. = Aug 12 is the makeup day for those districts.
August 15, 2006= Carnesville Lodge #186= Grand Masters will visit. Eat at 6:30 pm.and newly raised Bro. Sidney Rice will do self-examination on Masters catechism.

August 19, 2006= Floyd Springs Lodge #167= "Masons Night with the Rome Braves" hosted by Floyd Springs No. 167. The Game starts at 7:00pm. All Masons need to wear Masonic attire and the seats are located near the 3rd Base level end of the field. The Lodge purchased 100 tickets for the game and the deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, August 11, 2006. Tickets for the Game are only $4.50. For tickets and more information contact Bro. August 24, 2006= Mount Vernon Lodge #22= Will host a Picnic at the Lodge at 6 pm. All invited including friends, children and wives; Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and amusements.

August 26, 2006= Rock Quarry= 53rd Annual Communication of the Rock Quarry Meeting on Wilscot Mountain, eight miles south of Morganton, Georgia. Our Grand lodge will do the Master Degree. But only the first part. Riverdale #709 will do the Dramatize. Meat will start at 12pm. Eight miles south of Morganton, Georgia. Chicken, BBQ, and Brunswick Stew with all the trimmings will be served at Wilscot Spring from about 12 noon until 3 pm. A donation will be expected to cover the cost of the meal. Ceremonies at the Quarry will begin at 6 pm. We recommend you bring a light jacket or sweater and a seat cushion. From Hwy 515, take GA Hwy 60 South toward Dahlonega and the Quarry.

September 12, 2006= Fort Valley Lodge #110= Will be honoring all Past Masters at the Masonic Temple in Fort Valley GA. I would like to make this special request for you to add this event to your plans. Our goal for the evening is to honor all Past Masters of this or any other Lodge. If you picture is not on our wall of Fort valley lodge Past Masters, we would like to take your picture this evening also. During this evening we plan to have a re-obligation ceremony wherein we all will all retake the Master Mason obligation, much as one performs a renewal of our marriage vows. This ceremony has proven to be a moving event and very popular in other Lodges.I hope you will deem this evening special enough to plan your attendance.
