engineering math - differential equations?

Is it possible to use undetermined coefficients for the follwing problems? If so, then what so I set the particular solution equal to? or can they only be done by variation of parameter?

1)Finding the particular solution of x^2y'' + 7xy' + 8y = x^2

2) Finding the general solution to the differential equation y''+9y = 2 cos(3x) + 2 sin(3x)
