| Applied Mathematics: perturbation theory?
Consider the quadratic m^2 + Em - 4 = 0 where E is epsilon and 0 <E<<1 after solving I get (-E +- squart(E^2 + 16)) / 2 1. Expand the results as series in E 2. Pretending m^2 - 4 = 0 is solvable but the original problem is not, develop approximate solutions 3. Solve be assuming a taylor series expansion in small E, ie. m = m_0 + Em_1 + ......... Your help is greatly appreciated |
