When you are accepted for post doctoral work at either Cal Tech or MIT you will be exposed to more than one mathematician who can provide you with the relevant math.

How is your application for your post doctoral coming along?

Just for a *start*, you might read this article and the references it uses. Since you're calling it the "big bang" instead of the more precise "Lambda - Cold Dark Matter Concordance Model", I might assume that you're going to need a few courses in advanced calculus and tensor math, plus a year or so of post-graduate physics.

I can also recommend "Big Bang: The Origin of the Universe" by Simon Singh.

Depends at what level you are at. There a number of good books including the OU's cosmology course. Alternatively there is the ADS service.... http://adsabs.harvard.edu/abstract_service.html
where you will find the bulk of the papers on astronomy.
I would start with WMAP.
