How did the laws governing the universe come about ?

"In the view of such harmony in the cosmos which I, with my limited human mind, am able to recognise, there are yet people who say there is no God. But what makes me really angry is that they quote me for support for such views." (The Expanded Quotable Einstein, Princeton University Press, p. 214)

“If there is a mystery about the creation of matter, there would be a still greater mystery about the existence of a higher being to govern it.”fixed.

How did the laws governing the universe come about ?

The "laws governing the universe" are nothing more than the abstract rules that human beings formulate to help explain and define their environment. Those rules don't have any existence outside the human mind.

I know a lot of highly intelligent people, one thing I noticed is that they lack common sense.

God, by His mighty hand (or voice), called the universe into exsistence, and also the laws governing it.

How did the laws governing the universe come about ?

That is the universal fallacy that infects believers. It results from an inability to actually look deeper. It relies on the notion that "If I can't explain it right now, it must be God".We have shown that matter can simply come into existence ... it relies on no external influence. We know that the laws that govern the universe need no "author". Gravity is simply a result of mass. An electron, in any universe, will be attracted to a proton. A negative charge and a positive charge will always attract. It's not arbitrary.

How did the laws governing the universe come about ?

003.190 Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day,- there are indeed Signs for men of understanding,-Al-Qur'an, 003.190 (Aal-E-Imran [The Family of Imran])“It is We who have built the universe with (Our creative) power, and, verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it.” (The Qur’an, 51:47)“You do not get into any situation, nor do you recite any Qur'an, nor do you do anything, without us being witnesses thereof as you do it. Not even an atom's weight is out of your Lord's control, be it in the heavens or the earth. Nor is there anything smaller than an atom, or larger, that is not recorded in a profound record.” (The Qur'an, 10:61).“Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before We clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?” (The Qur’an, 21:30)

The "laws" are just patterns of interaction. This statement isn't much more sophisticated than saying the a rubber ball bounces because there is a spirit inside it.
