| please help-NEEDED:people who are willing to answer a math question that is good... ...at math.? ok the inequality is: y is less than or equal to 2-x tell me what y is and what x is and when graphing i dont know which side to shade. thanks so much, if someone could explain it, ill choose you for the best answer! |
| |||
| Y<2-x Y simply represents the function. x is the slope. So the slope of the function is 1. After drawing the line you want to shade below the line, because the value of Y is LESS than the value of your equation (aka. the line). |
| |||
| pretend that the inequality sign isn't then until the shading needs to be done so y=-x+2 where the y-intercept point is ( 0,2) start graphing at that point with a negative slope of one so the line goes from upper left corner to bottom right corner going down 1 square. then you test it by using the equation w/ the inequality signs. use coordinates from both sides of the line that you graphed.... try (0,0) and a point from the other side.... if the coordinates work in the equation so not ( 4is less than or equal to 1 for example) if it works, shade in that area. and becuz the sign is less than or equal the line you draw for the graph is a solid line instead of dotted. |
