| Mathematics Question...? Let J be the Jacobian matrix, corresponding to the general two-dimensional discrete-time system: x_(n+1) = f(x_(n), y_(n)), y_(n+1) = g(x_(n), y_(n)). - Show that necessary and sufficient conditions for both eigenvalues of J to have magnitude less than 1 are the following Jury conditions: |tr J| < 1 + det J < 2. Please help - I have been attempting this question all day, and haven't made any progress at all - some help would be much appreciated! Full workings/explanations would be great, if possible...? Thanks. |
