HELP WITH... Mathematics =)...?

1) The sum of two numbers is sixty-five, and if the larger number is divided by the smaller number, then the quotient is three and the remainder is five. Find the numbers.

2) The sum of two numbers is ninety-one. If the larger number is divided by the smaller number, then the quotient is fourteen and the remainder is one. Find the numbers.

3) A number is doubled, and then seven is added. When the result is divided by forty, the quotient is two and the remainder is thirty-three. Find the original number.

4) The difference of two numbers is seventy-two, and if the larger number is divided by the smaller number, then the quotient is seven and the remainder is six. Find the numbers.

Please show me your steps

Thank you

x=3*15+5
x=50

(14y+1)+y=91
x=14y+1

Molie D has a spectacular aura about
1)x+y=65
x/y=3+5/y
(x-5)/y=3
x-5=3y
x=3y+5
therefore:
4y+5=65
4y=60
y=15
x+15=65
x=50

2)x+y=91
x/y=14+1/y
(x-1)/y=14
x-1=14y
x=14y+1
15y=90
y=6
x=91-6=85

3)(2x+7)/40=2+33/40
2x+7=80+33
2x+7=113
2x=106
x=53

4)(x+72)/x=7+6x
x+72=7x+6x^2
72=6x+6x^2
x^2+x-12=0
(x+4)(x-3)=0
x=3 or -4 (but not -4 because it just wouldnt work)
and the big number is 75

hope this helps and its all right :P
xxxxxxxx
