What's the content in a General Mathematics or College Algebra class (both at a 4...

...year University)? I'm registering for classes next week, and am waffling between the two. I only need one math class - gen ed requirement - but I don't know what these involve, how difficult they are, etc. The syllabi the Professors have posted are fabulously unhelpful. I absolutely abhor math, so I want to make sure I take a class that will do nice things for my GPA. However, I'm currently in a Calculus class, and wonder if I would be bored in General Mathematics.
(The next level up is Trig, which I don't even want to think about. I enjoyed it in class, but I'm sure it gets a lot harder.)
I'm in an IB Calculus class in high school, and took IB PreCal, but I doubt I'll pass the IB test to get college credit. There is NO WAY I'm considering Calculus ever again.

Calculus is not usually considered a cake course so far as mathematics go. How hard a course like General Math or Algebra vary greatly per school and even by the professor. In the schools I have been at, students take a "Pre Calculus" class before calculus
