Why does racism get more media airtime than sexism?

Because it's a hot news topic that can get people stirring and cause more violence, thus more news.

Because powerful black leaders have been very vocal about the race issue whereas women just dont seem to have very many leaders who are blatantly vocal. Maybe this is because the attractive, and hence most charismatic (ha that was sexist) women, are scooped up by men who support them so they arent so aggravated by the condition.

Also women are raised to be so much more tacit than men. Look at black women and how mistreated they are even by black men. You would think that, composing 50% of the black people, women would make up 50% of the black leaders, but that certainly isnt true.

It seems that racism is more "in your face" hating.

Sexism is more subtle like just being passed over for a job. I do not hear too many people say "I hate women" Unfortunately, I have heard people say I hate Blacks-right here in these groups.
