Heart patient traveling with medicine?

I had a heart attack in February. This May, I will be going on a trip for a class to NYC. I'm on eight different medications including heart meds and blood thinners. I'm also wearing a Nitro patch and take Nitro tablets as needed.

What is the procedure for carrying all this medicine on a plane? I usually divide it all up in a pill box each month so I don't have to deal with bottles every night. Do I need to take each bottle?

And as for the nitroglycerin- I have a RX for it- and it's such a small amount- are they going to let me even take that on the plane?
