if i had sex while i had a UTI, did i make it worse/make my medicine not work

properly? my doctor gave me pills to take for 3 days that should "clear it all up"

on day 2, i had sex with my boyfriend.

now a week later i'm having all of the UTI symptoms again. And no, its not an STD because she tested for that the first time and it came back negative.

did having sex mess up the process? should i call and ask her to prescribe more?
