What medicine can I take to get me back at least to work?

I am seeing a therapist but My live-in boyfriend of 2 years and I got in a huge fight and now he wants to break up. Largely, it was almost all my fault because I have some insecurities, low self esteem issues in which I am working on. And I have severe Fear of Abandoment issues. I feel panicked, extremely anxious, desperate and most of all, very, very depressed. My doc put me on Wellbrutin but it's not working. I think they are going to fire me at work because I keep calling out. I haven't eaten for about 26 hours, and I sleep in 2 hour intervals at night. I just wish I would die of a heart attack or something. Also, I can't stop CRYING. Is there another type of medicine that I can take? I almost want to go to the streets and try some illegal drugs just to take the pain away! I hate my life and myself!!

Don't self-medicate (that includes alcohol and 'street drugs').

Many medications DO take some time to actually work. However, the medication well know for anxiety is Paxil.

Be aware, though, that even IF a particular drug ends up working for you, it invariably will have side effects and may stop working after several weeks or months. For mental issues, finding the 'right' med is like a game of chance.
