How to give a resistant 2 year old medicine? When I give my 2 year old medicine (weather it be a chewable or liquid) he gets so work up a nd so upset that he throws up and then doesn't get any at all. I asked his doctor and he didn't give me any help. Please if anyone has any ideas i'll try anything. Thank you.

I would play with my kids using a syringe I would start with water and squirt it in there mouth and miss sometime on purpose to make them think it was funny then i would use juice then the meds. remember to put the meds in a small cup trick his mind. it would take me 5 min or so to do all this but it was fun for them and easier on me. GOOD LUCK.

Deceit and lies are definitely NOT recommended when giving medicine to children. Best to ignore any advice that advocates that. Click on this link and scroll down about halfway to where it says "Believe it or not, some toddlers don't like to take medicine" and read what it say. I hope it helps. http://life.familyeducation.com/medicine/toddler/52579.html

Try putting it in juice. If its liquid, then put the medicine in first and then a tiny bit of juice over it. If its chewable, crush it up and put it in juice or better yet put it iin ice cream. The ice cream works the best. Just dont let him see you doing it. if he senses its time for medicine, he will be resistant.
