Medieval medicine?

all i want to know is a few things about medieval medicines and illnesses (of the time around Shakespeare). if you know anything about the basic remedies or illnesses that ocured around that time, let me know.

also, if you know of any way that Shakespeare could be tied into this topic (like if he had the "bubonic plague" or anything). that would be great. thanks

Medeival medicine is often considered so primitive as to be an oxymoron. Blood letting was a common practice, and science or even knowlege of the body wasn't their guide.

From wikipedia:
After the plagues of 1592–3, Shakespeare's plays were performed by his own company at The Theatre and the Curtain in Shoreditch, north of the Thames.[96]
