Where can I find out about the history of medicines from the ocean and sea?

Hi, I'm trying to find reliable information on the history of medicines and research of medicines that come from the oceans and seas but everything I find is about current exploration. Does anyone know where I can find the history aspect? Thanks for any help and have a great day!

I am not sure about a historical aspect. I am sure there is one somehow, but I would be willing to guess the reason all you are finding on current research is because the ability of man to see more of the ocean and deeper into the ocean is a fairly new thing.
