Homeopathic medicine in people vs animals?

I have used homeopathic remedies for two of my cats with cancer. Almost from its inception in the early 18th century homeopathic remedies have been used with many species of animals as well as with people.

The same remedies are used for humans and animals - chosen in accordance with the disease or problem presented. Anxiety is just ONE symptom of an individual need and the remedies are chosen on the basis of their applicability to the totality of symptoms. So an anxious person would not necessarily have the same remedy as an anxious dog.

My homeopathic veterinarian is a licensed medical veterinarian also. There are many practicing veterinary homeopaths who are not trained like the regular veterinarian.

So much of homeopathy is individual training by working with a practicing professional. There are pediatric homeopaths, probably those who specialize in geriatrics, etc. Experience is the best way to be proficient in homeopathic prescribing so the practitioner will generally specialize in treating animals OR humans.

I do know that my vet who does only homeopathy with animals studied with a human practitioner for about three years. There are over 2000 remedies from which to choose an appropriate one for the problems presented by the patient.

Is there a big difference in 'prescription' of homeopathic 'meds' between animals and people? For instance, in an anxious person and an anxious dog or cat, would the same remedy be given?

The bigger question - if you're a professional homeopath, are you automatically fit to treat people and animals? Or do you need separate education for each?
How about input from someone who won't call me sweetie and isn't self-labeled as being uneducated and a quack?
It's just curiosity - I don't have a sick pet.

well i know that many remedies perscribed for humans can be safely perscribed to animals however yes you would have to study the animal anatomy and understand all of these systems to be able to recommend a remedy from the materia medica. when one practices homopathy the are trained in the human anatomy and it's systems as well in the remedy systems to understand how to perscribe an approperiate remedy.So also is true for animals you have to be trainned in the animal anatomy and its systems to properly perscribe an approperiate remedy. Homeopathic 'remedies' contain no active ingredients and therefore can have no physical effect on humans or animals. Homeopathic remedies fail clinical trials continuously.

Any apparent effect can be put down to placebo, natural remission or bias.

In the worst case scenario, a pet owner who believes strongly in homeopathy is misled into thinking his/her pet has made a recovery but in fact the pet is still suffering.

If your pet is sick please see a vet, and use only evidence-based medication. It's cruel not to.
