Water 'crises' - Where can I get water w/o traces of medicine in it?

Many articles have recently condemned our water sources to damnation but do not mention what alternatives we are to seek out.

Now, does anyone know which water company takes special care to get rid of this issue? Or how I can set up a distillation system in my home that will get rid of those medicinal chemicals? (Link is ok) I've heard it takes a lot more gallons of water to get just one clean one, but then one the Stephen Colbert show, there was a man with his distillation invention, so if anyone knows about that...
