| pain medicine... HELP? i reinjured my knee pretty badly on March 17th. The ortho that i was seeing locally thought that it would be best if i saw a specialist. I went to the specialist on Monday and i have to go to PT for 3 wks and then i am most likly having surgery after... I ment to ask the DR for either a refil on my pain meds or for something else cause what i have(darvocet) isnt really working once the pain reaches a 6 or 7 or higher(which is after i am up an on it, with or without my crutches) and i only have like 4 left anyway... i completely forgot to ask him about the medicine but figured that i would be able get the refil when i got back home... I called the ortho office to see about a refil and they said that since i was refered to the specialist the HE was the only one that could get my the script... problem is that he is in Baltimore and i live 2.5 hrs away would i be able to call the office and get a script faxed to the pharmacy where i live or do i have to wait until i go back in 3 wks? ok im NOT a pain pill seaker... it took me months after the inital injury to even ask for something stronger then the ibprophen that i had been taking... and as far as the pain not possibly being a 6 or 7, I have a torn ligament and a possible chondral fracture... so yes the pain does get that high... I have dislocated joints in the past and nearly broke my ankle so i do know real pain.. and i happen to have a high pain tolreance... all i was trying to find out is if it was possible to get the script without having to drive to baltimore before my appointment and i dont even take them every 6hrs like im spposed to i only take them when i am in pain... the origanal script was for 60(i got it in Nov) and didnt have to have a refil until March... which was for 40 and the ONLY reason that i need the refil now(so fast) is that I have had the reinjury since the refil... and my pain level has increased therefore i am having to take them more frequently(about every 8-10 hrs) but still not every 6 and i dont even take them every 6hrs like im spposed to i only take them when i am in pain... the origanal script was for 60(i got it in Nov) and didnt have to have a refil until March... which was for 40 and the ONLY reason that i need the refil now(so fast) is that I have had the reinjury since the refil... and my pain level has increased therefore i am having to take them more frequently(about every 8-10 hrs) but still not every 6 |
