I was told by my doctor that any time an infant under 6 months is sick to take them in to be seen. There immune systems are very weak, it can get worse very quickly. So, to be on the safe side take him in to see a doctor.

Baby Vicks, the aspirator and hot baths are the only thing that worked for my newborns. Not only does the cold medicine and antihistamines (sp?) not work on infants it isn't safe. I have recently been using a tea called Mullein for congestion with my toddlers. I didn't know about it when they were newborns. Maybe you could call the health food store and find out if it is safe on infants. It actually works and is caffeine free. I just steeped it and put a 1/4 cup in their sippy cups. By the end of the day the cough and congestion was clearing up. Amazing! Good luck.

You absolutely should not give babies that young any sort of medicine without a doctor's advice to do so. It sounds like you're doing everything you can for him at home, and it isn't helping, so it's time you call the doctor and have him looked at.

he is not too young for the tylenol drops, however, you need to contact your dr. for the right dosage. Depending on your baby's weight and his groth chart... your doc may say differnt then the bottle. Tylenol really helps a baby who's in pain. Being sick sucks!! Esp for a baby who can't blow his nose or clear his throat!! Humidifier is awesome, saline drops too! Everything you're doing is great! And talk to your doc about medicine.
