Why am I crashing on my add medicine?

I have ADD. I just finally went to the Dr. to be treated because I was sick in tired of my days being wasted on unfinished projects and so on. I was prescribed adderall xr 10mg . I am to take them 1x a day. The medication works great, I am doing so much more at work that I always wanted to do, but never did. I am completing task better, too. However, when I get home around 8 hrs or so after taking meds, I crash. I am useless and lazy. I have too much to do at home being a mom, and wife. Do you think I should take my meds later in the morning to help me out longer? Or do I need a small dose later that will help me get threw the evening until bed?

Please only answer if you know what your talking about..

No sarcasim, or negativity about Adderall...I know all about it my whole family is ADD.

So, I am waiting for the Drs office to call me back, in the meantime...help me out please...
It is XR (time release)
He called back, he said I should try taking two pills at one time in the morning for 2 days and see if that helps. I hope so!

Because your medication is not time release.

You need somthing like adderall XR or Vyvanse.

Ritilin SR is also good.

Your observation that your ADD medicine (Adderall XR) causes a drop off later in the day is how ADD meds work for some people. That is true with the stimulants - alerting agents including Ritalin, Dexedrine, even coffee - caffeine compounds. There are no perfect meds for ADHD. One can change the dosage, the timing of the meds, etc. which can sometimes help. Good luck.
