are there any good over-the-counter cough medicines for children that are 18 months

old? my daughter is 18 months old and has a kinda bad cough that she got from her older sister, I have been giving my 5 year old Desylum but that I know you can't give a 18month old. So many things have been pulled from the shelves, i need HELP!!!
i took both of my daughters to the dr. last week and they said there was nothing they could give either of them, it was something that had to run it's course unless it got worse then bring them back, it hasn't gotten worse, just want to make her cough ease up some! she doesn't have a fever or anything

When my son had a cough ( he is 18 months old), his pediatrician told me to give him a tbsp of corn syrup. Sounds gross, but it helps sooth their throat. It really helped him. Good Luck!

You wont find any cough medicine for an 18 month old, the best thing is to use a vaporizer and good old fashion chicken soup (broth). If it is croup, which is common in babies take your child outside in the cold air for a short time to help clear out her airway. If none of these tips work then a trip to emerg is in order where they will subscribe your baby a treatment.
*You can also use tempra for fever and pain to make your baby more comfortable

my ped told me to give my son (12months at the time) tussin..but it probably wouldnt work..he informed me that nothing is goin to work on a baby...so far--he was right--
just let it run its course..
