Do colds and flu go away quicker with or without medicine?

Considering that cold and flu medicines only treat symptoms, I was just wondering if they had any affect on the duration of the illnesses. Thanks!

Not unless they are prescription antivirals.... But normal cold medicine No. Mucinex which is an expectorant can help to reduce the time you are sick with stuffed sinuses and/or a chest cold
