When to take claritin allergy medicine?

ok i have the claritin allergy medicine and it says dotn take more than 1 tablet in 24 hours. my question is are you suppose to take this when your allergies start or take it in the morning before it starts??
so when do i take it?? before allergies or when allergies come???
