Does High Blood pressure medicine cause dependency?

If i get on high blood pressure medicine will i have to stay on it for life? I'm 22 i really don't want to stay on it. For instance if the high blood pressure is caused by something else and i correct it will i still have to stay on the medication because of my bodies dependecy?
