can you take Sleep medicine and never wake up?

I have to get some teeth pulled out (a bunch) to make room for braces and im 13 and don't take pain very well. I was talking to my friend about if i should ask my mom to ask the dentist to give me sleep medicine so i can sleep right through it but then my friend said not to since she knew someone who did that and then the dentist couldn't wake her up, and she was dead. I'm scared to go without the medicine but im afraid to want to take it now? How bad does it hurt getting a bunch of teeth pulled? Im scared
