Should Marijuana be decriminalized as a Medicine?

I'm doing a research paper on it and I need popular opinion, so I would love to hear your comments/criticism about this. Also, if you state a statistic or a quote, it would be immensely helpful if you could provide a link to the source.

ps. Just to be more specific, this is not if Marijuana should be legalized, which I don't believe it should, but I do believe that people who have problems that this drug can fix should be able to have un-hassled access to it. That is my standpoint.
