Primary-care Sports Medicine specialist?

I am currently in High School but I am looking to become a Primary-care Sports Medicine specialist. But, i have a few questions and was wondering if someone thats in this profession or knows alot about, can answer them for me. First of all, how much schooling after high school do i need, and i've heard of the term "residency", what does that mean? What is the average salary for a Primary-care Sports Medicine specialist? Lastly, what colleges or universities are there in or around Chicago that offer degrees or classes for this profession?

All help is greatly appreciated!
