I have acute bronchitis and wondering what is a good over the counter cough medicine to suppress it?

if it has been diagnosed as bronchitis your doctor should have presribed anitbiotics if it is bacterial. other than that mucinex works great

You are asking for big trouble suppressing a cough - this means everything, mucous etc will clog up and cause even more problems. You need an expectorant to get the mucous up off your chest.
You should really see your doctor - but try covonia or ask the pharmacist.

try mucinex or the generic called guaifenesin. good stuff.
