Can you order medicine online without a precription.?

My husband has severe neuropathy caused from diabetes. His legs and feet are in constant pain and he can't return to work because he can't walk because the pain is so severe.I just need to know if you can get medicine without a prescription without having to pay a monthly payment for someone else to tell you where to order them from. He has lost his insurance at work and we can't afford to continue to go to the doctor every time he needs his medicine refilled. I would appreciate any suggestions.
